New Release > Orquesta Nacional De España. Joaquín Rodrigo «Obras Concertantes», Raquel Lojendio Soprano

This double CD covers more than four decades of creative activity by the maestro Joaquín Rodrigo, from the early Tríptic de Mossèn Cinto, a song cycle composed in 1935 –although premiered in 1946 by Victoria de los Ángeles at the Palau de la Música Catalana– to the late Concerto as a diversion for cello and orchestra in 1981, premiered in London by Andrew Lloyd Webber with Jesús López Cobos. A repertoire linked to leading names in Spanish music –Ataúlfo Argenta, Gaspar Cassadó, Nicanor Zabaleta– and revealing a multifaceted and diverse art that transcends the limits of the picturesqueness of the well-known Aranjuez Concert and that is deserving of renewed interest in our days.

The Basque conductor Juanjo Mena, one of the recent names most strongly linked to the work of the Saguntine composer, leads a soloist roster that includes another key name from the Rodrigo Renaissance, the Bilbao-born Asier Polo (Concert as a diversion and Concert in mode Gallant), the Pamplona Laura Salcedo (Summer Concert), soloist of the ONE, the French harpist Marie-Pierre Langlamet (Serenade Concert, Sones in La Giralda) and the Tenerife soprano Raquel Lojendio (Tríptic de Mossèn Cinto).

New Album HIGHLOW Haiku Suite

Nunca estuvimos lejos,
nunca estuvimos cerca.

Both Canarian artists come together in this work to take a journey through the physical and sound world, creating spaces and textures that invite a deep reflection on the relativity of
dimensions, which we call HIGHLOW.
We were never far away
we were never close.

The Highlow Haiku suite album project was born out of a desire for unification and universal collective brotherhood. For this, poems by artists from different countries were chosen, all of them encompassed in a theme of valorization of nature and love as indissoluble and coexisting links. Miguel Jaubert, in the musical part, and Raquel Lojendio in the vowel, take us to changing atmospheres that rise and fall, always held by a vital breath of chaotic introspection, sometimes, and almost mystical, others.
